Virtual receptionist pricing

Four plans. One receptionist.

An AI receptionist costs between $39 and $199 a month, depending on how many minutes you need and how much you want it to do. GrayWorks starts at $39 a month for 40 minutes and one phone number, billed monthly, cancel anytime.

Every plan answers on your number around the clock. The plan decides how many minutes you get and how much the receptionist can do — not what hours it works.

Why isn't there a free trial?

Your receptionist is generated from your actual business details — hours, services, escalation rules — so there isn't a generic version to trial. Hear it first instead: call the demo line on (202) 335-4047 — it's the same AI you'd be paying for. Plans are month-to-month with no contract, so you can cancel anytime from your billing page if it's not a fit.

What drives the cost

Minutes. Connected call time only, rounded up to the next full minute, and calls that never connect cost nothing. Plans run from 40 minutes to 500. Going over is not a penalty and does not force an upgrade — it is billed at $0.35 a minute as its own line on the invoice.

Phone numbers. Every plan includes at least one. Premier includes two. If you would rather keep the number already on your van, your door and your listings, forward it instead — that costs nothing and callers dial exactly what they always have.

What it is allowed to do. Answering, transfers, messages, transcripts and knowledge-base answers are on every plan. Booking and rescheduling into your calendar start at Professional, and Premier adds Spanish and priority support. This is the one that decides your plan for you: if you want it booking jobs rather than taking messages, you want Professional or above.

What it replaces

The honest comparison is not against another piece of software. It is against a human answering service, which bills by the call or the minute and does not work at 3am without a premium — or against the call you miss, which costs you the whole job. One recovered job a month covers any plan on this page several times over. That is the entire argument, and it is why the prices above are published rather than hidden behind a demo request.

Billing

Minutes, invoices and cancelling

How is billing handled?

Plans are billed monthly. Your plan covers its included minutes; anything beyond them is billed at $0.35/minute as a separate itemised line on your invoice, collected by the monthly usage rollup rather than added to the subscription.

What counts against my minutes?

Connected call time only, rounded up to the next full minute per call. Ringing and unanswered calls do not count. Starter includes 40 minutes, Essential 100, Professional 250, and Premier 500.

Is there a contract or a setup fee?

Neither. There is no setup fee, and plans are month-to-month.

How do I cancel?

From your billing page in the dashboard, at any time. You keep the service until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Can I change plan later?

Yes — up or down, from your billing page. Capabilities that belong to the higher plan switch on or off with the change.

How many phone numbers do I get?

Starter, Essential and Professional include one number. Premier includes two. You can keep your existing number and forward it instead, at no extra cost.

Every plan answers around the clock — see after-hours and overnight cover. Everything else is on the FAQ page.
